Home Chef, Christina, and product designer, Grant, have been enjoying their 36″ Caliber Indoor Professional Range in their newly renovated kitchen in San Juan Capistrano, California. Christina says, “I love this range and use it all the time!” Christina has not only been baking bread in their new oven they’ve also tested and perfected a sourdough bread recipe they will be sharing with our fans next month. And, not only is it a recipe she will walk you through with tons of insider information, she will even provide a timeline to make the process easier. For over three decades the Outdoor Kitchen Design Store by Preferred Properties has served Connecticut, New York and Southampton. President and founder Michael Gotowala has been designing outdoor kitchens with Caliber products and we are featuring one of his Southampton, New York installations this month.

The Rockwell by Caliber Social Grill and Power Pro Dual Top Burners make this project the perfect featured Caliber installation. The disappearing grill canopy was the focus of this creative island design and allows the chef to cook and serve the guests near the pool from the grill area. This beautiful installation of the 48″ Rockwell by Caliber Built-In Grill in Santa Barbara, California, is the focal point for this outdoor oasis. The owner and designer of this well-appointed home is also an award-winning industrial designer and principal of Life Style Design. His family chose to include the Rockwell by Caliber Social Grill for its contemporary appeal. 

They now also rave about the top notch culinary results they share with family and friends. Their family dog, Lucky (above), also enjoys any treats guests are willing to part with from the grilled goods. Cabinet work in this design is by Pat Carson Studio and cabinet metal facing is by Neal Feay Company. 

Haefele Design knows how to translate the needs and desires of their clients into their projects, which won them much praise from the NKBA and a first place 2019 Outdoor Kitchen award. When a sophisticated, forward thinking bachelor wants to entertain, he does so in an aesthetic that exemplifies his lifestyle. Haefele Design graduated from the “man- cave” and opted for a sleek, contemporary outdoor kitchen with a custom black finished Rockwell by Caliber barbecue as a focal point and a custom square black handle to match. The lid even included a custom gloss black porcelain coating.

This outdoor room is complete with two refrigerators, ice maker and a dishwasher. Cabinetry construction is unique, incorporating the use of unconventional high gloss solid acrylic doors, solid plastic carcass boxes and special non-rusting hardware. This kitchen is completely indestructible to weather and rough use.

The most unique and challenging feature was engineering the fully integrated handles in conjunction with the different hidden appliances. The side of the cabinetry run with the refrigerators required vertical hidden handles, whereas the opposite side has one horizontal handle at the top of ADA height appliances. Two different types of outdoor outlets were powder coated to match, allowing up to twenty USB cords to charge at a time.

The sink is black stone to match the black granite waterfall countertop, topped off with a black MGS telescoping faucet. At night, lights glow in the knee space as well as washing the textured, grey backdrop of a wall. For the full photos from this installation visit Haefele Design’s website here.

This outdoor project inspired by the Mediterranean included a custom color 48″ Rockwell by Caliber Social Grill and 22″ Caliber Pro Kamado Grill/Smoker to carry the cobalt blue within the Spanish tile theme throughout the indoor and outdoor property.
